Yoga and Pilates Coaching at Wensum Valley Golf Club
I am now pleased to be able to offer individual and small group coaching at Wensum Valley Golf Club in Taverham.
My goal is to help you move better, using less energy, improve sporting performance and feel unstoppable.
Mobility and flexibility are an important component of fitness but it is often neglected until the point that poor mobility starts causing pain and injuries.
You don't need to "feel like an old person", whatever your age.
Book in for a posture and mobility MOT package to start your mobility and flexibility journey. Your body will thank you for it, your physiotherapist wont thank you as you may not to see them anymore!
Why Pilates is the perfect training for golfers
You might be finding golf a little harder than you used to but putting it down to "old age", maybe you find it takes you longer to recover after a game, maybe walking around the course is a little harder these days, or perhaps you are feeling the effects of an injury that is impacting your game.
As we age we lose mobility, overall strength and core strength. Much of this is not a direct result of the ageing process - it's not the age, it's the mileage. By the time you are in your 40s you will have built up a lifetime of bad habits that you don't even notice, but your body notices. Using the wrong muscles to move around and play sport is one of the main causes of injury.
The good news is that Pilates exercises can help you. If you see a physiotherapist then they will give you pilates exercises as part of your rehabilitation but they wont generally supervise you doing the exercises and most people don't do their physio exercises (if they did then physios would be going out of business)
Seeing a Pilates professional can support a programme of physiotherapy and more importantly stop you from getting to the stage of needing the physiotherapist.
You might be thinking that Pilates is an exercise class aimed at old ladies or people that want rock hard abs, but what it actually is is a full body exercise programme working your body, mind and breath for optimal performance, and it was invented by a man (Joesph Pilates who was still extremely active into his 80s).
How to book an appointment
Posture and Mobility MOT package £149 (2 appointments)
Appointments are currently available at WVGC on Wednesday afternoons only (2pm - 530pm) - other appointment times may become available depending on demand.
You can book an appointment by dropping a message on the contact page or downloading the app and messaging directly oh there. Please provide details of the best way to contact you.
You can also book in with Luna directly if you see her in the club.
At your first consultation you will have a full posture and mobility check, the opportunity to ask about injuries and their prevention and photographs will be taken for the follow up report. Please dress for exercise and wear clothing where it is easy to see the alignment of your body for best results.
At your second appointment you will be talked through the report recommendations and walked through your tailored exercise programme to ensure correct alignment for best results.
If you feel like you still need more help then you can book individual or small group training sessions.
The right exercises, done with precision and control can make a huge difference to your body and how you feel within only a couple of sessions IF you stick to the programme therefore I find it unnecessary to work with most clients for more than a few sessions.
My goal is to teach you what I know so that you don't need me
